You know those questions about what you’d do if you won the lottery? People talk about never working again, buying a huge house, traveling around the world. The lottery looks like a different path to different people.
What would I do if I won the lottery? Well, it depends on how much. I’d wipe out my debt, give a nice chunk to NEW PAWS for specific projects they need, go for a much needed long visit back home to Hawaii, maybe go on a couple of cruises, and then I’d come back. Depending upon the amount, I’d set up something for my future and then I’d create a foundation.
The #CoconutSavedMyLife Foundation would give grants exclusively to small shelters like NEW PAWSibilities who don’t have major deep pocket donors, who can’t qualify for major grants, who don’t have a marketing team to help them turn dreams into realities.
And I’d keep working doing what I do, helping dogs to find new homes. Because no matter how much money you have, if you do not have a home, do not have anyone to love you, no one to love, it doesn’t really matter the size of your bank account.
For a rescue dog being chosen to go home is exactly like winning the lottery. You have the power to ensure that our dogs win!
You can adopt, you can sponsor, you can write a check, volunteer, go to our fundraisers, spread the word. It’s a pretty long list of all the things you can do.
Spending a few bucks on a lottery ticket doesn’t really increase your odds of winning. Those same bucks donated to NEW PAWSibilities will make a difference.
